"The Frozen Pond Technique"

In this first workshop, we dive into a technique that feels a bit like capturing winter in motion. The Frozen Pond Technique is all about layering glazes, textures, and subtle movement to create that glassy, slightly mysterious surface you'd expect to find on a pond just beginning to freeze over.

We'll start by introducing new materials and specialty glazes... the kind that react, separate, and bloom in the kiln like tiny controlled surprises.

Each guest will choose their own piece of stoneware... bowls or plate.

This is a guided experience, but not a rigid one.

Think of it as learning the rules just enough to bend them beautifully. Along the way, we'll walk step-by-step through the process, sharing tips, techniques, and those little insider tricks that make the difference between "nice" and whoa, you made that?
