I'm Anita
I began painting at the age of 12 and haven't stopped. Now, I'm very pleased to be one of California's nationally-recognized plein aire painters, painting and teaching at events throughout this beautiful state.
For years, I've been closely studying the works of master painters and reading everything I can about painting, then putting what I learn through rigorous development across the canvas. I'm grateful to have worked with wonderful painters and mentors including Lawrence Beane, Darwin Musselman, Mace Taylor, Joyce Pike, Joan Irvine Smith, Jean Stearn, and Dr. David Saari.
When you view a painting, you're also peeking into the artist's soul. I hope viewing my work brings you a sense of the pleasure and joy that I feel when I'm painting.
The Mastery of Color
Many artists struggle with achieving the perfect colors for their paintings, often resulting in muddy or chalky looking pieces. Fortunately, award-winning plein air oil painter and experienced instructor, Anita Hampton, shares her expertise to help artists gain confidence and control over their color mixing. Join us in the picturesque Paso Robles for a fun-filled and informative 5-day painting workshop, including a special mid-week sensory experience in the region. Don't miss out on this unique opportunity to transform the way you think, react, and mix colors while capturing the beautiful golden scenes of the Central Coast.
$800 per guest. (9:00am-4:00pm daily with 1 hour lunch break.)
